Wedding Make Up Interview with: Emma

Categories: Wedding Make Up Interview

Emma got married in August 2021 at The Gilstrap, the Newark Registration Office. While we had some worries early in 2021 as to if the wedding would go ahead or not (pesky COVID!) she managed to keep her wedding date as planned and partied hard. Emma's not a big makeup person, and wanted a super light look that freshened her up.

When did you get engaged, and when did you get married? How long did it take to plan your wedding?
Engaged October 2019, Married 17th August 2021. Planned for just over 1 year.

What suppliers did you book first? Feel free to sing their praises!
You and my hairdresser - Sally at The Dollshouse, Wollaton.

How did you find me to book me? e.g. Google, social media, recommendation etc.
I was recommended to you by my friend Jo Coleby.

Why did you book me? Did you consider doing your own makeup?
I booked you because I hardly ever wear make up and had absolutely no idea where to begin! I just knew I wanted as natural look as possible and I was told by my friend that this is something you would be able to do. I checked out your website and saw all the wonderful work you had done in the past and got in touch.

How did you find your trial makeup appointment with me?
The make up trial was fun. I didn't really know what to expect but you really put me at ease and listened to exactly what I wanted to achieve for my wedding day look. You also gave me great advice for getting my skin ready for the day.

Would you have changed anything about your wedding makeup?
Not a thing! I still love looking at the photos now! I look so different yet so me!

Any advice for someone else getting married?
Plan and book as much as you can as soon as possible and have a back up in mind for every supplier just in case to save stress later. Use second hand sites for bits and bobs and reuse items to save on money and ask friends and family to lend a hand. Most of all, enjoy the day - it really does just fly by faster than you can blink!

"I booked Sali to do my bridal make-up after being recommended to her services by a friend. As a general non make-up wearer, I relied on Sali for suggestions on what sort of make-up would be suitable and advice on preparing my skin for the day.
Sali is an absolute professional at her work and has a wonderful personality which made it easy for me to tell her what I wanted and she was then able to provide the look that I wanted to achieve.
On the day of the wedding, Sali arrived on time and not only made me look the best version of myself ever (I had so many compliments from my friends and family!) but also stayed on to help me get ready in my dress. She also left me with a little bag of tricks to help me through the day including tissues and extra lipstick, which came in very handy! Sali went above and beyond to make sure that I was ready for my wedding day and for that I will be forever grateful to her.
I highly recommend Sali for all your make-up needs!
Thank you! "
