Ellie and Louis got married in May 2024 on a bright sunny day, getting ready at her Mum's Wollaton home before going to St Andrew's church at Castle Gate with their reception at the gorgeous Holme Pierrepont Hall. Ellie had a great group of long standing friends as her bridesmaids, and they all properly looked out for each other on the wedding morning.
When did you get engaged, and when did you get married? How long did it take to plan your wedding?
We got engaged in February 2023 and we got married in May 2024, so it took us just over a year to plan the wedding.
What suppliers did you book first? Feel free to sing their praises!
We booked our venue first, as soon as we visited Holme Pierrepont we knew it would be perfect for us! We also booked Nathan Walker who took our wonderful photos.
How did you find me to book me? e.g. Google, social media, recommendation etc.
I googled "wedding makeup artists in Nottingham". I was won over by all the wonderful reviews!
Why did you book me? Did you consider doing your own makeup?
I considered doing my own makeup, but then realised it would be best left to a professional, since I don't wear much makeup day to day, and am no good at doing things under time pressure! I really liked the way all the brides on your website had their own beautiful and unique look, you can tell you really listen to what people want rather than just doing a standard makeup look for everyone.

How did you find your trial makeup appointment with me?
I really enjoyed the trial! I brought my mum along with me, as she was quite nervous about getting her makeup done. You made us both feel super relaxed, and really listened to what we wanted. I couldn't believe how nice the makeup looked!
Would you have changed anything about your wedding makeup?
Nothing at all, I really felt like a beautiful version of myself. It also lasted so well through the whole day (and a lot of happy tears).
Any advice for someone else getting married?
Book Sali to do your makeup! Honestly having a hair and makeup artist (Moira Borg did our hair and she was amazing too) made the morning so much more relaxing for me and the bridal party. Sali will keep everything organised and stress-free and you will look amazing. Otherwise - just soak it all in and enjoy a really special day, celebrating you and your partner.

"Sali was an absolute pleasure to work with and I couldn't have been happier with my wedding makeup. She listened to what I wanted and made sure I was 100% happy at every step. It's a bit of cliche, but she really made me look and feel like the best version of myself. My Mum and bridesmaids were also really happy with their makeup and they all looked stunning.
Sali was a warm and friendly presence on the morning of the wedding. She was super organised with timings, so everything felt relaxed and there was plenty of time to make adjustments and touch-ups. She kept everyone calm and waited with us for a late taxi, even offering to give us a lift to the church if it didn't turn up. Thank you Sali!"
