Wedding Make Up Interview with: Caitlin

Categories: Wedding Make Up Interview

Caitlin & Kelsea got married in October 2023 in the most gorgeous autumnal styled wedding I've ever seen. Ever! Marrying at the wonderful Hodsock Priory, the trees and leaves surrounding the venue were just the most perfect colour ever, coupled with the stunning jewel toned bouquet, matching Caitlin's bridesmaids dresses, AND Kelsea's tailored wedding suit in the most sumptuous deep dark velvet. LUUUUSH. Read more here...

When did you get engaged, and when did you get married? How long did it take to plan your wedding?
We got engaged on 11.07.2021 & married on 30.10.2023 - so it took just over 2 years for us to plan it.

What suppliers did you book first? Feel free to sing their praises!
Firstly we booked our lovely venue Hodsock Priory in Blyth, Nottingham. Secondly, we booked our wonderful photographer Maddie Farris. Thirdly, we booked hair & makeup - Hair by the fabulous Lydia Hopkins & makeup by the marvellous Ms Moo Makeup!

How did you find me to book me? e.g. Google, social media, recommendation etc.
I found you through Google, as I was specifically searching for vegan & cruelty free makeup artists in the Nottingham area.

Why did you book me? Did you consider doing your own makeup?
I didn't consider doing my own makeup. I don't really do anything other than basic makeup in my day-to-day life, so I wanted to feel a bit fancy! The fact that you only use vegan & cruelty free makeup was also a massive reason why I chose you - as well as stalking your Instagram!

How did you find your trial makeup appointment with me?
Absolutely amazing! You were so friendly & instantly made me feel at ease!

Would you have changed anything about your wedding makeup?
I would not have changed anything at all! My makeup was perfect!

Any advice for someone else getting married?
We had a sweetheart table for the wedding breakfast. This was partly due to the fact that my parents don’t get along & it was simpler to not have a top table. However, I would encourage anyone getting married to consider a sweetheart table! It was lovely to be able to sit down with my wife and debrief about the day so far, just us two.

Caitlin's Google review:
"I cannot begin to describe how amazing Sali was on my wedding day! She was lovely & chatty, always cracking jokes and telling me to remember to breathe. She was a calming presence in the midst of the wedding prep. She made all my bridesmaids and me look spectacular! I could not ask for a better makeup artist, if you’re considering booking her, do it! You will not be disappointed!
As I had quite a big bridal party, she brought along her wonderful friend Adele to split the workload. They worked like troopers and I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work 🧡"
