Trans Makeup Lessons
I've been teaching 1-2-1 makeup lessons well over 10 years ago now! Whether you're a beginner looking to master the basics, or an experienced makeup lover wanting to refine your techniques - my 1-2-1 makeup lessons offer personalised guidance tailored just for you!
I've taught a number of trans clients too, and it's a great source of pride for me that the trans community hold me in high regard and trust me with teaching them. In a world filled with tutorials and beauty advice, nothing compares to the benefit of personalised instruction - especially when you're learning for the first time about your face, what you like about makeup, and how it makes you feel!
Unlike following a youtube tutorial, my lessons allow real-time feedback. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions too; there's no silly questions in my studio!
Bring whatever makeup you have with you, and we'll review it all - the good, the bad, and the ugly! Whatever isn't serving you anymore can be relegated to the big makeup bag in the sky, and you'll get a PDF document with links to product recommendations, discount codes I've accumulated that you can use, and detailed notes for you to come back to when you're doing your makeup on your own.
Here's Nic's review of having a lesson with me. Nic describes themslves as "your gender fluid auntie"; check out her instagram to see her talking about style, fashion, mental health, and navigating life as a queer person.
"Hey! Last week I had my first professional 1 to 1 makeup lesson with the wonderful Sali from @msmoo_makeup. I've been doing my own makeup for years now, though this has been a bit of a hodgepodge of this I've learned from friends, from YouTube and experimentation. Recently I've struggled a bit to find the right colour base, as well as thinking my routine is basically the same as in 2016 so wanted to update it.
Sali has a private studio in town, I went there with my kit and brushes. We went through what I most wanted to learn, and went through the products I had to see what I felt was working for me and any areas I needed help with. My main one was stubble coverage, I found it was a bit cakey round there especially with a heavier foundation. Turns out I was using a shade a bit too orange and I could use far less product!
Sali showed my some great tips with how to apply product, as well as suggested order for doing things. I felt much more confident at the end and couldn't wait to try out some new looks.
Even better, she sent me some notes at the end summarising the lesson, as well as links to products with some discount codes!
If you've not had a 1-1 lesson before I'd highly recommend it, I've found it's actually simplified my routine, I wear less product and feel like I'm entering a new makeup era! Sali is lovely too, a true ally to the LGBT+ community and was great fun to spend time with."
